Basement Wall Repair

Most work we do for basement wall and foundation repair is brought on by the damaging affect of water saturated soil, especial soil with a high clay content, sitting against the foundation and basement wall of a house.  The photo gallery contains different pictures about this type of work.

Description of Work:

           >Replace bowing or deteriorating concrete block or poured walls with a new concrete block wall.  The new wall is coated with tar foundation coating and has 2 in. Dow Board placed around it up to grade level.  4 in. drain tile is placed around the foundation with crushed stone covering it to help with water drainage to prevent buildup against the wall. Install inside or outside sump pit when necessary to help keep basement dry.

           >Sometimes the damage to a foundation or basement wall is not severe enough to necessitate its complete replacement or the property has a high water table and needs excavation to actually help with waterproofing.  At this point we would merely repair the bowing (that is a wall which is moving or bending in by the weight of the water saturated soil against it) or leaking walls by excavating and properly sealing wall(coating it with tar foundation coating and Dow Board) and installing drain tile around the foundation footer.

           >According to the need, there are times when we do install steel I-beams vertically against a wall that has only bowed slightly and this may not require excavation.  We also sometimes install the beams after we excavate and push a wall back into place.
